Cerita pendek atau sering disingkat sebagai cerpen adalah suatu bentuk prosa naratif fiktif. Cerita pendek cenderung padat dan langsung pada tujuannya dibandingkan karya-karya fiksi yang lebih panjang, seperti novella (dalam pengertian modern) dan novel. Karena singkatnya, cerita-cerita pendek yang sukses mengandalkan teknik-teknik sastra seperti tokoh, plot, tema, bahasa dan insight secara lebih luas dibandingkan dengan fiksi yang lebih panjang. Ceritanya bisa dalam berbagai jenis.

Cerita pendek berasal dari anekdot, sebuah situasi yang digambarkan singkat yang dengan cepat tiba pada tujuannya, dengan paralel pada tradisi penceritaan lisan. Indonesia's national motto, "Unity in Diversity" ("Different but remains one"), articulates the diversity that shapes the country. Besides having a dense population and vast territory, Indonesia has a natural area that supports the level of biodiversity in the world's second largest.Indonesia is also a member of the United Nations and the only member to ever come out of the UN, namely on January 7, 1965, and rejoined on the 28th September 1966 and remained declared Indonesia's 60th member, the same membership since joining Indonesia on 28 September 1950. The word "Indonesia" is derived from the Latin word Indus meaning the "Indies" and nesos Greek word meaning "island". Setiap masyarakat dalam kehidupannya pasti mengalami perubahan-perubahan. Berdasarkan sifatnya, perubahan yang terjadi bukan hanya menuju ke arah kemajuan, namun dapat juga menuju ke arah kemunduran. Perubahan sosial yang terjadi memang telah ada sejak zaman dahulu. Ada kalanya perubahan-perubahan yang terjadi berlangsung demikian cepatnya, sehingga membingungkan manusia yang menghadapinya. Berikut ini beberapa ilmuwan yang mengungkapkan tentang batasan-batasan perubahan sosial. Gillin dan Gillin menyatakan bahwa perubahan sosial sebagai suatu variasi dari cara-cara hidup yang telah diterima, baik karena perubahan kondisi geografis, kebudayaan, dinamika dan komposisi penduduk, ideologi, ataupun karena adanya penemuan-penemuan baru di dalam masyarakat.
Samuel Koenig menjelaskan bahwa perubahan sosial menunjuk pada modifikasi-modifikasi yang terjadi dalam pola-pola kehidupan manusia. Modifikasi-modifikasi tersebut terjadi karena sebab-sebab intern atau sebab-sebab ekstern. Selo Soemardjan menjelaskan bahwa perubahan sosial adalah segala perubahan pada lembaga-lembaga kemasyarakatan di dalam suatu masyarakat yang memengaruhi  istem sosialnya, termasuk di dalamnya nilai-nilai, sikap, dan pola perilaku di antara kelompok-kelompok dalam masyarakat. Berdasarkan uraian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa perubahan sosial adalah perubahan unsur-unsur atau struktur sosial dan perilaku manusia dalam masyarakat dari keadaan tertentu ke keadaan yang lain.

BAB I

PERISTIWA SEKITAR PROKLAMASI 17 AGUSTUS 1945 DAN PEMBENTUKAN PEMERINTAHAN INDONESIA

A. UPAYA PERSIAPAN KEMERDEKAAN INDONESIA

1. BPUPKI
Pada tanggal 1 Maret 1945 pemerintah pendudukan Jepang di bawah pimpinan Letjen Kumakici Harada mengumumkan pembentukan Dokuritsu Junbi Cosakai ( BPUPKI ) untuk menghadapi situasi kritis. Susunan anggota pengurusnya adalah 1 orang ketua 2 orang ketua muda dan 60 orang anggota. BPUPKI mulai bersidang pada tanggal 29 Mei sampai dengan 1 Juni 1945 untuk merumuskan dasar Negara dan UUD.Akhirnya pada tanggal 22 Juni 1945 lahirlah Piagam Jakarta.
Pada tanggal 14 Juli 1945 BPUPKI melaksanakan sidang yang kedua untuk menerima laporan dari ketua panitia ( Soekarno ) yang terdiri dari 3 keputusan yaitu :
a. Pernyataan Indonesia merdeka
b. Pembukaan UUD
c. Batang Tubuh UUD
2. PPKI
Setelah BPUPKI selesai melaksanakan tugasnya, maka Jepang segera membubarkannya dan membentuk PPKI ( Dokuritsu Junbi Iinkai ) pada tanggal 7 Agustus 1945 yang berjumlah 21 orang dan tanpa sepengetahuan Jepang ditambah 6 orang anggota sehingga PPKI sudah diambil alih sebagai alat perjuangan rakyat Indonesia dan bukan semata-mata badan yang dikehendaki Jepang.
Pada tanggal 6 dan 9 Agustus 1945 kota Hirosima dan Nagasaki dibom atom oleh sekutu, sehingga Jepang bertekuk lutut pada sekutu. Sementara Soekarno, Muhammad Hatta dan Radjiman dipanggil oleh Jenderal Terauchi di Dalat-Vietnam untuk menerima kemerdekaan dari pemerintah Jepang.
